Gamespot Game of the Year 2009
The Game of the Year is the final award, the final category, and the final reckoning for the absolute best of the best of 2009. Like in previous years, this category has an expanded list of finalists. GameSpot has nominated not five, but 10 of the best games on all platforms for the year’s top 10 list, and considering the year’s abundance of amazing games,
Activision: Call of Duty 4 Wii will probably be the best multiplayer FPS for the system
Even though The Conduit has suffered from a few online glitches and hackers, the system in place is still quite favorable for online gaming for Wii. Unfortunately, there aren’t many other FPS titles to choose from when it comes to playing with others through the Internet. Perhaps Call of Duty 4:

Capcom VS Nintendo
Capcom characters have crossed paths with a number of other members from significant franchises in previous fighting titles. But how does Capcom vs. Nintendo sound? Tatsunoko vs. Capcom producer Ryota Niitsuma doesn’t seem opposed to the possibility and even told NGamer magazine that it’s “an interesting idea.”

“As you know, we like our Capcom Vs series – we have quite a few: SNK, Marvel, Tatsunoko. An interesting idea would be Capcom Vs Nintendo. Capcom wins!” -
Shenmue 3 will not work on current generation of consoles
The first time i saw shenmue was on a tape called “what is Shenmue” that was after i bought a Japanese dreamcast with sonic adventure, then i started to follow Shenmue news to know exactly when it will be released. At long last, Sega announced the Japanese release of the game, and i imported the game immediately to play what i considered to be the most anticipated game ever for me at that time.
After finishing the game multiple times without understanding the full story of the game (as i mentioned before i played the JP version) i started to look forward to the US version to experience the game in it is full potential. Although the voice acting in the US version was bad, i enjoyed the game more because of my understanding of the story.
I know that shenmue have a lot of annoyances and criticism like the drought of free battles, and the lack of fast forwarding time in the game , though the game was unique and epic at that time . So i started to anticipate the sequel to see what can Yu Suzuki (the creator of shenmue ) do to improve the game.
Sega announced that they will halt the production of the Dreamcast, and Shenmue 2 will be released in japan and Europe, while the US version will be released exclusively on Microsoft new console at that time Xbox. Shenmue 1 sold over one million on the Dreamcast while the sequel was not as successful as the first one.
So you may ask your self why am telling you a history lesson about Shenmue and Sega? How Shenmue 3 will not work on current generation of consoles? continue reading to find your answers

Xbox 360 Tops Wii in Japan
With weeks of hardware shortages behind it, a lower price point, a new hardware package, and a major Square Enix release, the Xbox 360 surged to the top of the console race for the week covering September 8 through September 14.
Data provided by Enterbrain via Famitsu.com has the 360 at 28,681 units for the week. This was a major leap over the previous week, during which the system had managed just 843 units.
The tracking period covers the September 11 release of a new 60 gigabyte 360 package. In addition to replacing the 20 gigabyte model, this new package drops the price down 5,000 yen to 29,800 yen. Microsoft simultaneously dropped the price of the Arcade and Elite systems to, respectively, 19,800 and 39,800 yen, and heavily promoted Square Enix’s Infinite Undiscovery, released the same day.
Coinciding with the 360′s surge, the Wii took somewhat of a downward turn, ending up with 27,057 units for the week. PS3 managed 8,050 units. All this worked to make the 360 the lead console platform for the first time since its launch.
Total domestic system sales for the 360 have crossed the 717,275 unit mark, Entebrain also reported.
The firm also reported first week sales of 86,708 units for Infinite Undiscovery. While not as high as first week sales of Tales of Vesperia, this is in the upper ranks of 360 software.
Guitar Hero World Tour for Wii pleasantly surprises (and gives hope to Wii Music?!)
Perusing the feeds this afternoon, I was surprised to discover an article that basically amounts to a ringing endorsement of the New Generation of gaming. Not the “Next” Generation, which is a farce created by video game marketers, but “new.” As in, all-inclusive, approachable games that place fun before competition, and game play over graph–well, I won’t go there again because I fear I’ve beaten that dead horse enough.
The article was a hands-on impression of Guitar Hero World Tour (Xbox 360/PS3 and Wii versions), and the site, I’m pleasantly surprised to say, was Kotaku. It remains to be seen if AJ Glasser’s write up will be torn to shreds by the Koyaku faithful (so far, so good), but what I do know is the Wii version–and the people who played that version at the demo (you’ll see what I mean)–were what impressed him the most.

Why Xbox 360 wont outsell Nintendo Wii
Last Monday, seekingalpha.com posted an article by one Bruce Everiss, who claimed that the 360 is destined to outsell the Wii, despite the fact that the system has done the complete opposite of that since day one. He also made claims that the “XBOX 720″ would be out by next November, and that the console is gaining a foothold in Japan, both of which are pretty much ridiculous.
Former Metroid developers go multiplatform
For Armature Studio, the hardware will finally match the vision.
Kotaku is reporting today three former Retro Studios employees have formed a new multiplatform development studio under a publishing deal with Electronic Arts.
The newly formed Armature Studio is headed by Mark Pacini, Todd Keller and Jack Matthews, the former Game Director, Art Director and Principal Technology Engineer of Nintendo’s Metroid Prime series.
According to Pacini, EA approached the three illustrious Metroid alumni with an offer too interesting to refuse.
“EA approached us with this really interesting business model of creating a small studio that is only comprised of industry veterans,” says Pacini. “The goal is to create new IP with a very, very small team and to produce a game without having to grow that team.”
