Nintendo announced a few days ago that we will not being seeing a DVD player Wii in 2007.Last year Nintendo had mentioned plans in regards to releasing the fabled WiiVeeDee this year, but in the announcement from Nintendo Japan, they are instead deciding to focus on meeting current high demand. read more

Activison CEO Bobby Kotic has confirmed the company is committed to reviving “One of the greatest videogame franchises of all time” by revealing 2 new Bond games are in development. The publisher secured the Bond licence to make games based on the 007 filmes in 2006 after EA ended its deal with MGM after 5 years. read more

Iwata: Nintendo ignoring traditional 4-year console cycle

In a recent conference to detail Nintendo’s Q3 financial results, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata mused on the subject of the firm’s hardware development and industry expectations on when, perhaps, the Nintendo DS will step aside for a new portable. Iwata, however, claimed that Nintendo has thrown the traditional four-year cycle for new hardware out of the window in favour of a more inflexible approach. The DS, he inferred, was still offering up innovation, so it’s place in the forefront of Nintendo’s mind is still secured.
